To examine these physical records without causing degradation, BECAIVE implements non-destructive scientific analysis:
- Multi-Spectral Imaging (MSI): Revealing faded ink and underlying text layers on papyri that are completely invisible to the human eye.
- X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF): Identifying the exact chemical composition of paint pigments and metal alloys, helping trace ancient trade networks.
- High-Resolution 3D Scanning: Generating precise sub-millimetre digital twins of relics for global research dissemination.
By unifying these methods, our research addresses key questions regarding royal tomb patronage, agricultural management in the Fayum basin, and the evolution of digital taxonomy in museum databases.
